Ten years ago during the euphoria surrounding the passage of the Telecommunications Act I spoke out against media consolidation as publisher of Inside Radio. Not only that, I exposed as often I could, the heartbreak of an industry. I saw able managers overloaded with the responsibility of running too many stations. People fired because they got in the way (we wrote of a cancer patient who one of the consolidators fired even knowing he was being treated for the disease).
